The last few weeks have been insane... two amazing 4-day festivals, and 3000+ miles in the van. Our trip out to the High Sierra Music Festival in Quincy was nothing short of magical :)

This show also marked the debut of my new frisbees, which were a complete hit. Before the weekend was over you could see them flying around just about everywhere. Thanks so much to everyone who picked one up, I hope you are enjoying them thoroughly!

These frisbees are also now available to order onlne... Check em out right here!!!

We spent a few days in Tahoe after the show and got to experience the best of the best that the lake has to offer... wakeboarding (thanks Dunc), kayaking (thanks Pam), swimming off the rocks at Skunk beach, and Mt. Biking the Flume trail all in three crazy days. Here's a couple of photos... hope yall are having a great summer also, with lots of fun in the sun!!!

5' x 6' 100% Cotton Tapestries!

These full-color cotton tapestries are gigantic! You really have to see these in person to appreciate their size. They're printed with a large-format digital textile printer using eco-friendly, water based pigment inks. The color saturation is amazing, and the fabric is an upholstery-weight cotton twill, which can really take a beating... plus they're machine washable! This means you can display it on your wall, drape it over your table, hang it from a tree outside your tent, or wear it as a cape and run around town... whatever your heart desires, now you can do it with crazy style!

3/23/10

I just finished a brand new poster for EOTO and Conscious Alliance. EOTO is a live electronica band comprised of Michael Travis and Jason Hann... these guys rock, and their shows are 100% live improvisation. With this poster design I did a little digital improv myself, taking elements from some of my recent work... mixing, spinning, and tweaking them out in Photoshop.

Come on down to the Fox Theatre in Boulder for the shows on April 9th & 10th and trade 10 non-perishable food items for a free poster! Great music and artwork for a great cause!

2/21/10

Winter has finally arrived here in Boulder. After a pretty dry start, February looks like it's going to bring it on. It's been snowing for the last 3 days straight, and I've been inside hermit-style getting a ton of work done.

So many fun projects, it's hard to know where to start... I've included a bunch in this post, but there's so much more on the horizon! Bottom line... life is good, and inspiration abounds!!!

First thing's first... new artwork!

~ Sunshine Daydream ~

Once is never enough, it seems... especially with music and artwork. In this case, explosive-symmetrical-digital-collage to the tune of The Grateful Dead. May I present... Sunshine Daydream

Part sequel, part evolution, this piece is further development of the ideas and techniques from my Sugar Magnolia collage. I enjoyed creating that piece so much, I felt it deserved another go.

For this piece I used characters and landscapes from my most recent work, and a few other pieces that never made it into Sugar Mag, to bring together a radical expression of color and symmetry. This is my love for Photoshop at it's most insane :)

~ New 3d Lenticular Prints ~

I just finished some new lenticular prints and they look truly amazing! They were printed on a 100lpi lens which is much deeper and sharper than the 60lpi lens that I had been using before. This means that the details are much crispier and the depth to the layers is more dramatic. If you thought these looked crazy before, you've got to check these new ones out!

These 8x10 prints come mounted in solid black 11x14 mats. At $40 each, these are also much more affordable... Pick one up today!!!

~ New Puzzles - Foxy & The Night Owls ~

These two are sure to keep you busy on these long winter
nights. I've just posted a bunch of new detail-images for all
my puzzles, make sure to head over to my online puzzle
shop
and check them out up close!

1000th Coloring Book Sold!!!

It's only been 2 years since I released my coloring book, and at that time, I never imagined selling 1000 copies... whoa!

*check out my reader's page for some recently added masterpieces...

Dakota!

Last, but certainly not least, welcome the newest member of the crew... Dakota the banshee pup! (actually she's half golden retriever, half black lab, but she sure growls like a banshee :)

Thanks again for joining me on this voyage. I hope you have enjoyed reading my blog, and any comments or suggestions are always welcome. I truly appreciate all your support :)

Stay tuned for more new artwork in the coming months, along with some fun poster designs for a couple of very cool bands... more details to be announced soon!!!

Happy winter!

Wow, it's the future already. As a kid growing up, I always thought of 2010 as that arbitrary "year of the future" where everyone would be wearing silver jumpsuits and riding hover boards like Marty McFly. Well, I'm still waiting for that first hover board to hit the market, but I am loving some of the other technological gizmos we get to jam with these days.

I'm primarily stoked on how this Wacom drawing tablet has effected my artwork recently. Being able to actually draw on the screen makes working digitally feel much more organic, and has led to some exciting Photoshop developments for me. I look forward to diving deeper off the digital end, and seeing what I can find down there... I'll try my best to bring it back for you guys:) Here's to 2010!

To juxtapose all of the techy-futuristic stuff I'm experimenting with, are the most fantasitcaly-natural surroundings that it's all taking place in. This is by far the most amazing studio that I've had the blessing to work in. Watching storms roll in over the Continental Divide right out my window is pretty powerful experience that occurs often; and the wildlife is abundant. In fact I'm watching a family of deer cruise through the meadow as I type this.

It really couldn't be farther from Simi Valley here below Sugarloaf, but I think it provides just the right setting to be inspired by the natural beauty of this planet, make some crazy artwork about it, and then upload it for the world to see... wirelessly :)

Speaking of artwork... here's my first piece for 2010... "Foxy"

Love to hear your thoughts on this one... and happy new year!
