One of the questions from my recent interview with Foiling Magazine was:
“How has foiling influenced your work?”

In this case, I believe the old saying truly applies: “A picture is worth a thousand words.”

This piece attempts to capture one of the most insane moments I’ve yet to experience foiling in the ocean. On my last trip to Nicaragua, I dropped in on a monster 💣 that pushed my abilities to the limit. I’m pretty sure it was the fastest I’ve ever gone on foil. The roar of the wave crashing behind me was deafening, and I knew I had only one option—hang on and outrun it 😳

Somehow, luckily, I made the drop and escaped into the channel! That memory is burned into my mind, and I felt compelled to translate that feeling into my art. For me, this piece is a wild reminder of that unforgettable ride. Every time I look at it, I’m filled with gratitude ~ for the opportunity to experience moments like this ~ celebrating the incredible gift of life we’ve all been given 🤙
