Sting Rays
Although foiling is currently my strongest passion… I’ve also always loved swimming. I have many amazing memories from summer days in Tahoe exploring the shores with a snorkel mask, and the few times I’ve gone scuba diving 🤿 😳 Something about the weightlessness and silence. It feels like you are in another universe. Immersed in a totally foreign landscape, with totally foreign inhabitants - None, so much so, as the sting ray. These guys are just totally alien to me… creepy and mysterious, yet also somewhat magnetic. I’ve been stoked every time I’ve encountered a stingray when snorkeling. They also, in some ways, resemble a foil 🤪 their bodies themselves are pretty much a wing, and their tails like a fuselage - gliding effortlessly.
I truly loved working on all of the pieces in this series… and I think each of them is super strong in their own way. But this one just ~ hits different! The color palette, the lighting, and the perspective all came together to create something special. With this as the third piece in the series, I felt like I was really picking up steam, and it fueled me to keep the momentum flowing 🤙
